Element to be considered with PPRC pipes

  1. Protect them from hitting or impact.
  2. Do not use pipes which are deformed or cracked at the cutting edge.
  3. Do not expose the pipes to direct sunlight, very low temperatures for very long periods, outside the installation.
  4. Do not weld dirty pipes or fittings.
  5. Cut the pipes only with special shears.
  6. After welding, you may twist the pipes and fittings at maximum 5º.
  7. Do not use the Teflon tape in excess when wiping the fixtures (the use of Teflon tape is recommended).
  8. Do not use bevel gear parts on the connections, avoid excessive tightening.
  9. In situations that require bending, use 140º C hot air instead of direct flame heating.
  10. After the installation, do a leak test?
  11. With gas boilers, at the hot water outlet, absolutely use control valves.
  12. Insulate the installation or empty it during cold weather, in order not to freeze.
  13. Avoid their contact with chemicals.
  14. PPRC pipes are resistant to corrosion, in their case rust or limestone deposits does not occur. The pipes do not allow the passage of UV rays (ultraviolet), so no algae or bacteria can form inside them.
  15. The pipes’ resistance does not allow changes in the taste or smell of water.
  16. No diameter shrinking appears at the place of welding.
  17. It insures an economy of 70% at fitting and does not cause technological losses.
  18. It is suitable for use at temperatures between -20ºC and +95ºC. (Must be insulated in the inside depending on the freezing point of the fluid).
  19. The life expectancy at 20ºC with a pressure of 25 atm is of 50 years.

PPR-C PIPE INSTALLATION TECHNOLOGY
The welding technology for PPR-c composite pipes without foil

  1. The pipe will be cut perpendicularly with special shears.
  2. Check the temperature of the welding machine; it should be between 240°c – 260°c.
  3. The dies of the welding machines must be clean.
  4. The pipe and the fitting must be pressed at the same time without being twisted toward the welding die.
  5. For the welding and cooling time, see the information chart.
  6. The pipe and the fitting will be welded without twisting, as soon as they are taken out of the welding die.
  7. Do not apply anything on the welded and cooled parts.
  8. In order to benefit from the warranty condition and to obtain best results, use only the SupraTherm products.

The fitting technique for ppr-c pipes with foil.

  1. The pipe will be cut perpendicularly with special shears.
  2. Check the temperature of the welding machine; it should be between 240°c – 260°c.
  3. The dies of the welding machines must be clean.
  4. Use the interior and exterior sharpeners according to the diameter and type of the pipe.
  5. According to the type of machine, the foil pipe will be peeled up to the resistance point.
  6. The foil pipe must be cleaned of residues left after the sharpening.
  7. The pipe and the fitting will be welded without twisting, as soon as they are taken out of the welding die.

The final testing of the installation

  1. The system valves will be in closed position.
  2. When filling the installation, the main valve must be slightly opened. To avoid strong pressure shocks carefully vent the points which are highest and most distant from the loading point.
  3. In each area, the valves must be opened and tested individually.
  4. The pressure test must be made as follows :
    a) The entire installation of the building is subjected to a leak  test for 30 minutes with 1.5 times the pressure provided  for the  existing  installation.  For 10 to 20 minutes, aim at decreasing the pressure and draining the installation, then the pressure increases again. For 30 minutes there should be no pressure drop greater than 0,6 bar or leakage from any point.
    b) For 2 hours, apply a pressure 1.5 times higher. This time the pressure loss should not exceed 0.2 bar or drain from any point of installation.
  5. If the pressure gauge lists a pressure loss greater than the values specified above, it means that there is leak in the installation. After checking the leaking installation, if necessary, change or tighten it.
  6. Wash the entire installation before using it.
